Thank you to everyone who attended or supported the FMC Foundation's Swing and Bling pinkyellowblueball, proudly sponsored by principal partner Aussie and supporting partner Kingsford Financial Group, held on Saturday 22nd October at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

The event raised $288,000 -  topping the funds raised on the night than last year's record breaking ball. Guests spent generously to support the cause and FMC Foundation organisers were blown away as one auction item generously donated by Gordon Pickard AM sold for an incredible $75,000!

Under the dazzle of more than 100 glitter balls, guests dined on delicious food accompanied by sumptuous red and white wines by Serafino and O'Leary Walker Wines, beer by Coopers, and pre-dinner cocktails thanks to the Daiquiri Factory.

The every-popular major raffles saw a number of lucky guests walk away with fabulous prizes including a brand new Corolla Ascent Sedan kindly donated by Toyota, a Vietnamese holiday thanks to Buffalo Tours and Six Senses Ninh Vanh Bay, and a beautiful diamond ring thanks to Pure Envy.

As well as fantastic entertainment by Black Jack and speed painter Brad Blaze, the event even saw its first wedding reception as Garry and Carolyn Browning celebrated their nuptials with a first dance song sung by David Campbell himself.  It was truly a night to remember!

pinkyellowblueball history

For the past 20 years the Flinders Medical Centre Foundation, through its annual Pink Ribbon Ball, has been raising money for vital breast cancer research and care at Flinders Medical Centre.  Since 2005 the event has also had a particular focus on raising funds for the building of the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer.

We are thrilled that construction of the Centre commenced in August 2010 and will incorporate the world’s first LIVESTRONG Cancer Research Centre upon its completion in early 2012.

In 2010 the Flinders Medical Centre Foundation transformed the Pink Ribbon Ball to call it the 2010pinkyellowblueball to reflect the diversity of cancer research that will be part of this new Centre.
