Sean's Shave it for Cancer |
|

When Sean was diagnosed with testicular cancer at just 20 in August 2010, his friends offered to wax different parts of their bodies to show their support - and “Shave it for Cancer” was born.
“Two of my friends waxed their entire bodies, and I waxed my legs because that’s the only hair I had remaining,” Sean said. “It was just after Movember so one of my friends also shaved his Mo off.”
Together the boys raised a fantastic $1,890 for cancer research at Flinders.
“There’s a lot of talk about prostate cancer, which is an older men’s disease, but young men’s cancers don’t come up as much which is why we wanted to hold this fundraiser,” Sean, who is now in remission, said.
“I obviously have a lot in common with Lance Armstrong so it made sense to dedicate the funds raised to the LIVESTRONG Cancer Research Centre.”
